Fade R hubs
At the heart of the wheels are Newmen's own Fade R hubs, which feature high-quality double-sealed industrial bearings for durability in all conditions.
Sapim Race spokes
By far the most popular spoke in Sapim's range is the indestructible Sapim Race model, which can be used to build the most stable wheels while still weighing very little. The flexible centre section handles high peak loads with ease. Plus, the omission of the heavily loaded spoke bend eliminates a potential breaking point, further minimising the risk of getting stranded with a flat tyre. The Sapim Race spoke is a true all-round spoke with which you are well prepared for any adventure.
In these wheels, Newmen alternates J-bend and straight-pull spokes, which is quite striking. It has made it possible to reduce the number of spokes to 21 while maintaining the same stiffness. It saves weight and improves aerodynamics. The 36-tooth pawl freewheel provides instant acceleration.

Top-quality wheels for the price
I used to have 25mm aluminium rims, but I’ve replaced them with Newmen’s 50mm-deep carbon rims. The difference is really noticeable – not only the weight but also the speed has really changed.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
World-class weight at a fair price
Significantly lighter than my previous aluminium rims and a good 70 grams lighter than dt Swiss rims that cost twice as much. The freewheel is quiet, even if I generally like the sound, on group rides I find the loud freewheels rather annoying. Here you can hang in the slipstream in stealth mode with the Newman rims.
